2 weeks old

Elias is now 2 weeks old.  He hasn't gained any weight but he is an inch taller than when he was born.  He likes to sleep, poop, eat and cry.  It's hard work being parents, but we love him to bits and pieces.  Here are some cute pictures I took today.
Our little burrito of a boy.

 He loves his little chair.

 How he looks at mom.

 How he looks at dad.

Hmmm, well according to my calculations....

Teacher, I have a question.

Nichole's Birthday

My 24th Birthday was last Wednesday on the 20th.  It was a nice relaxing birthday.  Devin made me crepes and they were delish.  Elias and Devin gave me a birthday card.  My mother-in-law came and took us out for dinner at wingers.  It was really good and really fun to get out.  Thank you Sylvia!  It was Elias's first real outing and he did great.  After dinner my sister and my friend stayed and we played games, ate chips and salsa and yummy ice cream cake.

It looks like Kelsey really enjoyed her dessert, hehe.

Eli's a Comin' (Home)

We stayed at the hospital 48 hrs and had a wonderful experience.  It was nice to have the nurses take care of you and each meal brought to you.  So we definitely took advantage of it.
Getting ready to change Eli in his outfit to take him home.

His little outfit for going home in.  The pants were a little too big:)

Mom and Eli ready to go home.

First time in his car seat.  He didn't like it at first but fell asleep soon after we put him in it.

Mom and Eli leaving Madison Memorial Hospital.

 Dad and Eli leaving MMH.

Devin made a welcome home sign for little Eli.

He loves to sleep with his arms up by his head just like his dad.

 Sprawled out on his dad.

Gorgeous flowers we got from our wonderful friends.

Just a little milk drunk after eating:)

Just chillin' in his diaper.  It was a little hot in our last apartment.

The name of this post is Eli's comin' because there is a song by three dog night called Eli's coming.  My parents and mother in law told me about the song so I had to you tube it.  It is an awesome song so here is a link to it so you can enjoy it as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A2eet1bttY

Baby Eli's Birthday!

HE IS HERE!!!  Elias Wright Belnap was born on June 14, 2012 at 5:57am.  He weighed 7lbs. 7oz. and 18.5 in long.  On Wednesday I had a doctors appointment and the doctor checked me and I was 3cm dilated 100% effaced and his head was really low in my pelvis.  I thought he was going to slip out any second.  The doctor striped my membranes while he was checking me.  That usually helps get things going and for me it sure did.  My doctor was going to be out of town this weekend so we decided to schedule to be induced the next day which was the morning of the 14th.  But later on that day they called me and canceled because they were over booked with inductions.  Meanwhile I was having contractions the whole ever since my doctors appointment.  Some were super long a painful, others were short and fast.  At times they were consistent and other times they were speratic.  About 6 oclock that day they were more consistent and painful so I called devin to come home so we could go to the hospital.  He got home at 8 but then my contractions stopped.  So we decided to wait and watch a movie.  Then after the movie they started up again.  So we packed the car and as soon as we got in the car they stopped and I felt perfectly fine.  We decided to watch another movie and I was fine through the whole movie.  So we got into bed around 11:30pm to go to bed and then all of the sudden they came hard and consistent.  So I told Devin ok this is it, we are going to the hospital.  We got there around midnight and they checked me and I was dilated at a 4cm and I had a super long contraction that lasted for about 6 1/2 minutes.  So that was it they said I was going to have this baby this morning and we'll get you into a room.  After that everything happened so fast.  Because it was my first one I was expecting to be in labor for at least like 12 hours.  But I guess I'm not your normal first pregnancy because not only did I have a fast labor and delivery but I also had him a week early.  So I got into the room at about 1 oclock and I started having really painful contractions.  We were waiting on the nurse anesthetist to give me an epideral (which I recommend, it was heaven sent) cuz there were 5 other births happening that night.  The doctor finally told he was coming so at 2:30 he broke my water and the contractions were really really painful and long.  I had hardly anytime to breath during each one.  Finally at 3 the nurse anesthetist came and gave me an epidural and oh man I don't know how people do it without one.  They checked me and I was at a 9cm.  I went from a 5cm to a 9cm in half an hour.  At about 3:45 I started pushing.  I pushed for an hour then got a half an hour break.  After that I pushed for another half an hour then the doctor came in and before we knew it he came sliding right out. When the doctor came in he said "that will teach them for cancelling your induction".   I tore a little so the doctor sewed me up while I got to hold little Eli.  I can't believe I did it.  I'm a mom now, agh!!!
All hooked up to the monitors.

Picture Perfect

My friend and I went to the gardens and played around with our cameras a couple weeks ago.  I wanted to share with you some of the pictures I took.

This one is my favorite. I might have to frame it or something.
