HE IS HERE!!! Elias Wright Belnap was born on June 14, 2012 at 5:57am. He weighed 7lbs. 7oz. and 18.5 in long. On Wednesday I had a doctors appointment and the doctor checked me and I was 3cm dilated 100% effaced and his head was really low in my pelvis. I thought he was going to slip out any second. The doctor striped my membranes while he was checking me. That usually helps get things going and for me it sure did. My doctor was going to be out of town this weekend so we decided to schedule to be induced the next day which was the morning of the 14th. But later on that day they called me and canceled because they were over booked with inductions. Meanwhile I was having contractions the whole ever since my doctors appointment. Some were super long a painful, others were short and fast. At times they were consistent and other times they were speratic. About 6 oclock that day they were more consistent and painful so I called devin to come home so we could go to the hospital. He got home at 8 but then my contractions stopped. So we decided to wait and watch a movie. Then after the movie they started up again. So we packed the car and as soon as we got in the car they stopped and I felt perfectly fine. We decided to watch another movie and I was fine through the whole movie. So we got into bed around 11:30pm to go to bed and then all of the sudden they came hard and consistent. So I told Devin ok this is it, we are going to the hospital. We got there around midnight and they checked me and I was dilated at a 4cm and I had a super long contraction that lasted for about 6 1/2 minutes. So that was it they said I was going to have this baby this morning and we'll get you into a room. After that everything happened so fast. Because it was my first one I was expecting to be in labor for at least like 12 hours. But I guess I'm not your normal first pregnancy because not only did I have a fast labor and delivery but I also had him a week early. So I got into the room at about 1 oclock and I started having really painful contractions. We were waiting on the nurse anesthetist to give me an epideral (which I recommend, it was heaven sent) cuz there were 5 other births happening that night. The doctor finally told he was coming so at 2:30 he broke my water and the contractions were really really painful and long. I had hardly anytime to breath during each one. Finally at 3 the nurse anesthetist came and gave me an epidural and oh man I don't know how people do it without one. They checked me and I was at a 9cm. I went from a 5cm to a 9cm in half an hour. At about 3:45 I started pushing. I pushed for an hour then got a half an hour break. After that I pushed for another half an hour then the doctor came in and before we knew it he came sliding right out. When the doctor came in he said "that will teach them for cancelling your induction". I tore a little so the doctor sewed me up while I got to hold little Eli. I can't believe I did it. I'm a mom now, agh!!!
